Nepal is a Multi-national, multi-lingual, multi-cultural and multi-religious country. Nepal is a country where Lord Buddha, Philosopher King Janak, Ideal woman Sita born. It’s area is about 0.03% of the world and 0.3% of Asia. On the basis of the physical features of the country, it has been divided into main three regions. These are Tarai Region, Hill Region and Himal Region.

Nepal is a landlocked country, the bulk area of which is mountainous. However, in the South beyond the Siwalik Hills, there is a long stretch of apron-like plane land, the average width of width is 20-22 miles. This long stretch plane land borders India and is popularly called Medhesh. Whereas people of mainly Mongol origin live in the hills, the Madhesh is inhabited by the Aryans whom the Gorkhalis call the Madheshees.

Nepal, where 77% land is covered by rocks, snow, barren mountains and sloppy hills etc and only 23% land is plane type while Terai covers 17%. Its narrow strip of flat land of fertile soil covers only 17% areas of the kingdom but more than 50% population of Nepal live in The Terai. Madheshee (Terain) people have their own culture and language like Maithili, Bhojpuri, Abadhi, Urdu but their national or contact language is Hindi and Hindi is the second language of Nepal.
